Jon Tonks was born in Birmingham,
UK in 1981. He started out as a staff photographer
for a West Midlands newspaper network, and
moved to London in 2007 to undertake a master’s
degree in Photojournalism & Documentary
Photography at the London College of Communication.
Since graduating with distinction he has
been commissioned by both the Saturday Telegraph
and Sunday Times magazines, his work has
also appeared in Intersection Magazine and
the British Journal of Photography.
After
spending time shooting out on Ascension
Island in the South Atlantic Ocean, he
is now continuing his work documenting
and creating imagery from the remnants
of the fading British Empire.
Jon is now represented by Lisa Pritchard Agency for commercial and advertising photography as part of the LPA Futures.
